Press Release Attention all Northern Rivers residents and visitors! We have some exciting news to share with you. We now have the opportunity to bring back your railway! After 20 months of dedicated effort to meet rigorous compliance standards, Northern Regional Railway Company (NRRC) has been granted a 12-month Minor Activities Licence between Bangalow and Yelgun by Transport Asset Holding via Transport for New South Wales and UGL. This is a monumental achievement, and we at Northern Rivers Rail Limited (NRRL) want to congratulate NRRC on their success! This licence will enable us to accurately cost the repair of the railway throughout the Byron Shire and pave the way for the return of railway services. We understand that this may be a controversial issue, but we want to make it clear that NRRL and NRRC are not against rail trails.
